Zambia Premier League Announces Separation from FAZ for Next Season

The Zambia Premier League has made a significant announcement, revealing its plans to officially detach from the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) starting from the upcoming season.

Cephas Katongo, Chairman of the Zambia Premier League, believes that this separation will pave the way for enhanced professionalism and success in not only the super league but also the women's league and division one.

During the prestigious MTN super league awards held in Kitwe, Mr. Katongo expressed his optimism that the challenges previously faced in administering the leagues would now become a thing of the past. By disentangling from FAZ, the Zambia Premier League aims to streamline its operations, implement effective governance measures, and ultimately foster an environment conducive to success.

FAZ Vice President Justin Mumba expressed hope that this decision would have a positive impact on attracting more sponsors to support the league. With the autonomy granted by the separation, the Zambia Premier League aims to create an appealing platform for potential sponsors, providing them with increased opportunities for brand visibility and engagement.

This move is expected to usher in a new era for Zambian football, one marked by greater efficiency and professionalism within the leagues. Football enthusiasts eagerly await the implementation of these changes and the subsequent positive impact they could have on the overall development and growth of Zambian football.
